Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for his Voluntary services

Roly

Portsmouth Lifeguards Member of 50 years and Senior Coxswain Roly Warmington has been named in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for his Voluntary services of 50 years to Portsmouth and Southsea Voluntary Lifeguards and 40 years to Portsmouth Coastguard Rescue Team.

Roly Started out as a Lifeguard at PSVL at a young age and has been a member of the club for almost 50 years. During that time, Roly has helped save numerous lives, contributing to the safety of our local coastline. Roly was awarded the honour for Services to Voluntary Lifesaving and HM Coastguard, to which he has also been saving lives for over 40 years as a volunteer Coastguard Rescue Officer.

Roly has been a very active member of our club, which would not be where it is today without his input and hundreds of hours of dedication. He makes great contributions to both training new crews on the lifeboat on Tuesday evenings, and also patrolling Southsea beaches on the weekends during the summer months.

Many Congratulations Roly on your award.
