Lifeguards put out two buried bonfire

bonfire

Member of public informed us of a fire still smouldering on the beach by the disabled ramp.
Although attempted to have been put out was likely to injure a beach user who was unaware.

Lifeguard 17 & 18 sent to investigate, found fire and put the fire out with buckets of water and the hose from the Lifeguard HQ and bits of wood and nails was removed from the fire.
Beach stones were also raked to make sure the area is cool and not at risk of restarting, With the fire out, lifeguard 18 found a 2nd fire a little further down the beach, so he re deployed to do a similar action, ensuring the beach was safe for beach users with the expected crowds flocking to the beach.

This day is forecast to be the hottest day of the year so far.
